What a great question we have this week. In essence, it’s “Is a human enterprise possible?”. Here’s the question: “My aspiration is to build a team and organisational culture that is kind and compassionate, that is high performing and results-driven.…
In this episode, we explore when to “cut your people loose”, “let them go”, or the best I’ve ever heard is “free up their career”. Here’s the question: Whilst acknowledging the process and legal requirements of Fair Work Australia and…

Key to the success of our strategy has been our partnership with the human enterprise and their delivery of the SAP ANZ Higher Ground programme. Prior to introducing the programme, few of our managers invested sufficient time in the people aspects of their roles. The Higher Ground programme has helped us to build a leadership culture in the organisation with dramatic improvements in employee satisfaction, engagement and the overall business results. Leaders have a better understanding of our expectations of them as leaders. Participants believe that we have made a significant investment in their leadership capability and now have both the skill and will to lead. Many participants rated the Higher Ground programme as life changing, gaining a significantly better perspective on their strengths and development needs as a leader.

It is with pleasure that I recommend Mitch and his team in the human enterprise to help managers build team collaboration, provoke new thinking on leadership and implement effective working protocols. I had the opportunity of having Mitch facilitate at 3 workshops and the experiences have been stimulating every time. His ability to get people to talk, open up and feel comfortable in expressing their thoughts is one of his greatest talents. My team and I have learnt and implemented practical strategies in running meetings, listening to each other, formulating joint goals & strategies and holding each other accountable in delivering action plans. There were visible and remarkable improvements in our team effectiveness and trust. I would like to thank Mitch for his energy and honesty. You have definitely exceeded my expectations of what I thought could be achieved through the process.

For over 10 years, I have seen Paul operate incredibly well with large groups, small groups and one on one. I have found his counsel and advice invaluable, and critically he has helped me understand myself better as a leader and as a person. He has worked well with my teams to stretch their development, and work with larger audiences to help them understand culture and how to drive success in large organisations. He has shown me the importance of “middles” making a stand, and I appreciate his personal support for me as I navigated through some challenging situations.

I wanted someone who would push me, to think about how I could better reach my potential. When it comes to coaching with Paul, the keyword is ‘Transformational’. It’s very easy to get a good coach and just make common changes. I wanted someone who was going to help me be a great leader not just a better manager. I contacted Paul because I knew of other Senior Leaders who saw him as a “game changer”. I didn’t want to take the long way to my goals. I wanted to invest in the best. That investment has paid off enormously, through his balance of constant challenging and support. My whole relationship of trust with Paul has seen me making significant changes, one of which is taking a stronger stand on issues I realised I deeply believe in. And that’s the reason I signed up with him in the first place.

Paul used a wonderful blend of humour, love, gentle insights and hard hitting truths to shake me out of my old way of being, and helped me create a new way. He is a “gem”.”

With Paul we designed “Create the Space” to run over an 18 month period, which has proved to be a successful and worthwhile investment. Paul runs and facilitates this for us, and at each step has led the group to have a higher level of perspective of their role and behaviours, and has provided us with new skills and tools to put into use.
Paul’s energetic style continues to in-turn maintain energy for the program and each session, and his great combination of strong insight, useful tools, relevant stories, fun-themed group learning sessions, and straight-talk (where we need it!) works perfectly and has changed the very language we use in the business (always a sign of cut-through!)

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for a tremendous workshop last week. Your enthusiasm and passion was one of the key ingredients to make it such a success. I think collectively as a group we broke down a lot of barriers that day.
