My father-in-law taught Deborah, my wife, a great business and personal lesson. He would often say:
“Never drop your standards”.
Now, I don’t think that any of us deliberately go out of our way to drop our standards.
It just happens.
But, if we aren’t vigilant and conscious of our game, before you know it, we find ourselves playing at a much lower level than what we are capable of. We start accepting it as the “new norm”.
Don’t let it happen!
In this video, I outline what it means to:
- Normalise the Deviation
- Raise your awareness of how this may be happening to you
- How to avoid it in the first place
- How to get back on track
What’s interesting is that we filmed this video long before the COVID-19 lockdown, where working only from home was a deviation for many. Will it become the new norm?
If you’re not careful, what starts out as a high performing TEAM can quickly deviate into a team of high performing INDIVIDUALS.
We get pulled back into doing our own thing or managing our own function. Getting fixated on being the best we can be, rather than the best the team can be and focussing on the whole.
It becomes the norm.
Want to make sure your team is focussing on total business results and embracing the awesome power of collaboration across boundaries?
