In this episode, we touch on career, change specifically, whether to move from a corporate role to a Not-for-Profit (N.F.P.) or For-Purpose (F.P.) organisation.
Here’s the question:
“I love my work, most of the time, but wonder whether this is really my “life purpose”. I have considered changing to N.F.P. work but still need a certain income to pay for an ever increasing mortgage and day-to-day expenses. What can I do to steer me in the right direction?”
FP or not FP? That is the question!
This often gets down to clarifying our life’s purpose. I believe it can change over time and you may have several “purposes” in your lifetime. But whatever you decide to do, you’ll be happiest when you align your passion and talent to something that makes a difference in the world.
Unfortunately, I don’t quite have all the answers here… I can’t.
What I can tell you is that work is the transference of energy – YOUR energy. And you’ll never be able to make the transference if you’re not energised and happy. A flat battery cannot start another battery! It’s why one of our values at the human enterprise is fun-filled energy.
So, before making any big career moves, try these three strategies to get clearer on whether a career change is right for you.
